Indoor rigs:
Blender Sufferfest MP4 video converted to DVD and played on TV.  Road bike attached to JetBlack turbo trainer. I bought a cheap Shimano R500 wheelset coupled with a worn old Maxxis Detonator tyre and a spare 12-28 SRAM Force cassette. Need to buy trainer-specific tires - like Continental Home Trainer or Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Home Trainer tyres. These tires are claimed to reduce the tire-drum contact noise.
Time, cadence, and heart rate monitor with Garmin Edge 500. Keep cool with a portable fan at full speed.

Mountain Bike Trails at Bukit Rotan Tunggal

Cadangan asal adalah untuk berkayuh MTB di Trail Bukit Rotan Tunggal.
Kami bertujuh memulakan kayuhan pada jam 9pagi dari Pejabat Hutan Rotan Tunggal, Taman Sentosa, dan akan berkayuh sejauh 17km sehingga ke trails Jalan Tras.
Tapi selepas 6km, kami tidak menemui trails yang dilalui oleh Ah Chai, Ridzuan & Geng 4 tahun lalu.
Kawasan trails dipenuhi dengan semak-samun, paku-pakis, pokok dan buluh tumbang.

Berkali-kali kami terpaksa menebas laluan, menolak  memikul basikal, merangkak celah batang pokok tumbang.

Lebih banyak tolak dari mengayuh.

Selepas 3 jam kami memutuskan untuk turun saja melalui jalan pintas, ke jalan besar.

Hajat kami ialah untuk berkelah di ulu Sungai Bilut, tapi di sini pun memadai untuk melepaskan lelah.

Sungguh banyak pacat....saya kena gigitan 4 ekor - 3 di kaki dan 1 di tangan. Pacat tidak hinggap di kaki penghisap rokok tegar. heran sungguh.

Kawasan letak kereta ini hanya digunakan semasa solat jumaat sahaja. Berpasir dan berbatu di bahagian tepi, sesuai untuk menajamkan skil berMTB.

Tak punya masa untuk training, tempat ini lah yang saya gunakan untuk berlatih. 30 minit selang sehari sudah cukup.

Dulu tempat ni lapang, sekarang telah didirikan struktur / store dari besi/aluminuim untuk pembinaan bangunan baru Masjid Sempam

Good Shoes for MTB platform pedal

Looking for new MTB shoes.... 
Sedang mencari kasut MTB platform pedal yang ada bagus grip dan tapak stiff, untuk cross country. Saya ada kasut clip-less MTB, tapi takut pakai untuk jalan off-road. Mana nak cari kasut FiveTen (5-10) , Teva shoes (bukan Theva Reborn ye) atau lain2 jenama?

New platform pedal - Exustar - model PB525

This is my 6-year-old Skateboarding shoes - R20 (RTwenty), that was used for birding. The outsole is hard and slips easily when I tested it with the Exustar pedal, and the fabric is already torn at toe box.

 

Read a lot of good reviews about  Five Ten 5-10, and Teva shoes. I can't find these shoes at Raub so have to 

use another alternative. Alvin Lee, Raub's downhill rider bought this 5-10 from KSH (Taman Tun Dr. Ismail) TTDI, price RM315

Found these sneakers - Nike ROSHERUN FB at Al-Ikhsan, size 9 - price RM199. Very light and the outsole is soft, so it should give a good grip to the platform pedal.

Nice pink logo, greenish outsole, and thin fabric at toe-box. The laces are short, which will not interfere with the chain ring. But I don't like that long protruding pull tab - may cut it off.

Merdeka Day Solo Ride at Grand Prix Kebangsaan 2013 Sirkit 3 Track

Grand Prix Kebangsaan 2013 Sirkit 3 - hosted by Pahang Bicycle Association at Raub. Caravan Serai Villas Resort was a venue where the riders and officials stayed. The event was also start and finish there.

I did the solo ride at the same 52km track in reverse (anti-clockwise).

Mountain Bike Revisited

After so many months of riding a Road Bike and neglecting the MTB, I cleaned the Kona frame and upgraded the XT hydraulic brake to a newer model. Change handlebar grips and  the tire to Maxxis 26x1.9 Larsen TT
