Cycling Jerseys

I have accumulated 10 cycling jerseys over 3 years. A few I bought myself and a few were from organizers when I participated in cycling events. So many cycling T-shirts that I have no time to wear, a few still unopened wrapped in plastic.
I bought 3 sets of Voetpedale Cycling Team Jersey, Cube, Specialized, Giant, Shimano, and Scott.

Front tyre puncture

My 4th flat tire since starting this hobby in  2010. First time with a front puncture,  while taking the left corner at the junction of Jalan Pekeliling (near TNB office) to Bukit Koman (Jalan Tg. Abdul Samad). Nasty fall resulting in the (L) knee and (L) shoulder superficial abrasion.
I didn't bring a spare inner tube and mini pump, so I called my son to fetch me home.
This was what happened to my Sram Red brake levers - not broken, scratch only.... and my knee below...
ouch!... knee wounds

I replace the inner tube - Innova 700x19/23C with Presta valve size 48mm, just nice for my 38mm wheels

Giro Bravo glove for cyclist

I always wanted to buy this glove since using Giro Aeon Livestrong in May 2012
My friend bought the same model at Godzilla Cycles Kota Strand Damansara for RM80. Our LCB here doesn't carry this brand, and I have no time to go outstation to buy it. Godzila Cycle gave me a quotation - "Bravo RM152. Monaco RM90", so Ebay is my best option.
I got it from 1800gofish aka Jimmy Barton for US28 = RM88.28 including postage.

Testing Sonic Super 38mm Full Carbon Clincher

Sonic wheel-set is an unknown brand in Malaysia, but apparently quite popular in Belgium and France.
I bought this rim from our LCB who ordered it from K.Lumpur. Apparently, the sole distributor is Tukang Basikal Fook Sang at Sungai Way.  They bring in only a limited set as a promotion and testing the market for this new brand.  So, I got a good bargain for testing their product, hope I do not end up as a guinea pig [hehe!]

They said this wheel was handmade in Belgium, but I suspect the carbon was made in Taiwan (similar rim from Gigantex here)
This is a mid-depth rim at 38mm,  with  DT Swiss Aerolite aluminum spokes. 20 spokes at the front wheel and 24 rear. The hub is 'Kuiper the Netherlands' another unknown brand.

wheel set weight = 1.56kg (0.71 front & 0.85 rear)
The sticker warns about a max rider weight of 120kg, and max tire pressure of 125psi.

I took the rims for a test ride at Fraser's Hill Road. Felt no different going uphill than my old SRAM 30AL race wheels. Only on downhill did I notice the brake squeal on hard braking with Sram Red carbon pads.
Afraid of horror stories that I read of carbon rim melting going downhill, I slowed down to a max of 40km/hr and used intermittent braking.
Thankful I survived 6km downhill from  Bukit Telaga to Tranum. The initial test was done, and I'm confident enough with this rim. Hope to test it in wet/rain soon.

Charging Garmin 500 without dismount from K-Edge

K-Edge Garmin mount is made from aluminum, and known to fit so tight to Garmin cycling computer.
The sharp edge blades that hold my Garmin are so sharp they actually cut the plastic on the device.
So, I am afraid of taking the Garmin in and out for charging and uploading cycling data to the computer/Endomondo website. The best thing to do is just plug into USB cable directly to the Garmin device without taking it out from the mount. Just bring my bicycle near the computer.
